This magnificent tree is famous for its 2-inch lavender
bells in summer and the carpet of fallen blossoms that forms around it. Before
flowering, the foliage, which is extremely finely divided, is also highly attractive.
The wood is purple with dark venation. The seed capsules are quite decorative in arrangements. It gets 25-40ft. high and 15-30 ft. wide with an open, irregular, oval-headed habit. Hardy to 25 degrees F/-4 degrees C. At Silver Leaf Nursery we have multi-trunk trees available in 15 gallon size pots.
